Facts about the Coronavirus: When it comes to COVID 19 many myths and false news have been spreading all over the world. People are much worried about this pandemic and why not as it killed thousands of people and still the vaccine is under-experiments.

 The infected ratio has been increasing day by day and only prevention and self-awareness is the only way to keep you safe.  

People are much concerned about what to do and what not to do, how to do, what are myths, and what are facts?

1. Myth: Coronavirus Originated from Drinking “bat soup”

Fact: According to experts there is no proof has been found that claims that coronavirus originated from drinking bat soup. The myth has spread like a fire all over the world and everybody looking worried.

However, bats can be the source of coronavirus but spreading in humans is not true and not proved yet.

The video of drinking bat soup was circled by a Vlogger in China in 2016 and not related to present circumstances.

The suspect and doubt of people are quite common due to the other dangerous viruses named SARS and MERS were also found in bats and killed many people previously.    

2. Myth: Wearing a Face Mask Completely Protects you from the Coronavirus:

Fact: Now it can be a little contradictory myth because experts are forcing everybody to wear a face mask even if medical masks are not available one can make at home by using any cloth or scarf.

The truth behind this myth is, wearing a face mask can prevent you from infected respiratory droplets. If somebody is sneezing or coughing around you and you are not wearing a face covering you can be easily get infected from coronavirus.

Everybody looking for an N95 mask so CDC the Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that if N95 is not available as they are reserved for medical experts to protect you one can use any mask made at home.

3. Myth: You can get Coronavirus from Groceries or Food Delivery:

Fact: Not true, the experts believe that only prevention and precautions are the only way to get rid of coronavirus entering your house. If you are ordering food from outside or doing grocery shopping make sure to wash your hands well and use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Coronavirus can live for three days on the hard surface so it’s better to use the groceries after three days or wash them well before using. 

4. Myth: Vitamin C Fights Covid-19:

Fact: There are many vitamin myths that are spread around that are actually myths, not facts.

The experts described that vitamin C is a good source of antioxidants and minerals still it can’t defeat coronavirus even heavy doses of vitamin C can cause kidney stones and discomfort so don’t take any vitamin supplement by your own.

5. Myth: Covid-19 is Likely to go Away in Summer:

Fact: WHO announced that there are no such proofs or data has been found that the virus will go away in summers as it spreads in the hot areas too.

Other viruses are seasonal so we have to wait for a while to see the results.

6. Myth: Coronavirus can be Transmitted through Mosquito Bites:

Fact: This is unlikely, as lack of any proof that viruses can spread through mosquito bites.

The virus is highly contagious and spread through the tiny droplets when a person coughs or sneezes or makes any physical contact so social distancing and hygiene can prevent a person from a respiratory infection.  

7. Myth: Pets can Spread Novel Coronavirus:

Fact: Pets can spread many bacteria and infections in human but in the case of coronavirus no evidence has been triggered yet.

Moreover, you must apply all the precautions if you are having any pets like cats, dogs, or any bird.

8. Myth: Eating Garlic can Help you from Novel Coronavirus

Fact: Coronavirus or any other virus can weaken the immune system and as we know that garlic is a natural immunity booster with an anti-bacterial property but contracting Novel coronavirus is not possible.

WHO also stated that without finding the proper evidence we can’t claim anything and garlic can fight with corona is not proved yet.

9. Myth: Coronavirus can Affect only Older People:

Fact: Not true, coronavirus can affect any age of people but yes, old age people having diabetes, hypertension, asthma or any other disease can make their immunity and strength weak so the chances to get infected increase.   

Following the prevention rules can save old people too so as the children have also weak immunity so make them follow all the rules as well.

10. Myth: Eating at Chinese Restaurants is Likely to Spread the Virus:

Fact: People are seriously avoiding the food ordering from the Chinese restaurants as the virus firstly triggered in China but experts suggested that ordering food from a Chinese place is not harmful if they are following all the safety measurements and regulations.

If you are ordering food from any Chinese restaurant you must follow the same safety tips. No matter the restaurant or Chinese or Japanese, your safety is the priority so make sure that the restaurant is aware of the pandemic.
